More Than Hockey. Building a Future for Female Athletes.
Okanagan Female Selects (OFS) is a proudly Canadian, female-founded hockey community dedicated to empowering female athletes.
Born from a passion for the game and the belief that female athletes deserve more opportunities to develop, compete, and stay in the sport they love, OFS was created to bridge the gaps in female hockey throughout the Okanagan.
Through high-quality development, competitive experiences, and a supportive female-first environment, we're creating more ways for girls to grow, connect, and reach their full potential.
We're not just developing better hockey players. We're building strong, confident, resilient young women — on and off the ice.
Built From a Need. Driven by a Purpose.
Across the Okanagan, female hockey players face barriers that limit their opportunities to develop, compete, and stay in the game they love.
Traditional geographic boundaries and local roster availability can leave athletes with limited options, lengthy travel, or teams that don't match their skill level. In some communities, there simply aren't enough players to sustain a female team, leaving teams to fold and athletes without a place to play.
Too often, girls are leaving hockey, not because they lack talent or passion, but because they lack opportunity.
We knew there was room for something different.
OFS was created to connect female athletes across communities, providing additional development and competitive opportunities beyond traditional geographic boundaries.
Because no girl should have to walk away from the game she loves simply because the right opportunity doesn't exist.
To empower female hockey players through accessible, high-quality development, meaningful competitive experiences, and a positive environment that builds confidence, leadership, resilience, and a lifelong love of the game.
Our purpose is simple: Create opportunities for female athletes to develop, compete, belong, and stay in the game they love.
A Stronger Future for Female Hockey.
We envision a future where every female athlete has the opportunity to play at a level that matches her abilities, develop alongside like-minded teammates, and pursue her potential regardless of geographic boundaries.
A future where girls are supported, celebrated, and encouraged to dream bigger.
A future where limited opportunities never become the reason a girl leaves hockey.
We are creating more reasons for them to stay.
Development With Purpose. Opportunity Beyond Boundaries.
Our approach focuses on the complete athlete, combining high-quality development, competitive experiences, and a positive female-first community. Our foundation is built on three core principles:
Opportunity
Creating pathways for female athletes to develop, compete, connect, and reach their full potential.
Female Empowerment
Building strong, confident, and resilient young women — on and off the ice.
Sustainability
Connecting female athletes and communities, strengthening female hockey, and creating lasting opportunities that keep girls in the game.
We believe success isn't measured by the scoreboard alone. It's measured by the confidence gained, friendships formed, challenges overcome, and life lessons carried far beyond the rink.
Be Part of Something Bigger.
Whether you're an athlete looking for your next opportunity, a family passionate about female hockey, or a business committed to supporting the next generation, there's a place for you in the OFS community.
Together we will break barriers, bridge gaps, and create opportunity.
The future of female hockey is being built right here in the Okanagan. And we're just getting started.
